This model was constructed for Charles Meyer of Moscow Mills,
Missouri. It is 1/4 inch scale and is 20 1/2 inches long.
It is a replica of the boat he served on, off of the coast of
Viet Nam, in the South China Sea, as a member of
"Operation Market Time".
The operation was initiated in 1965 to control / interdict the shipments
of arms, by sea, to the North Vietnamese Army fighting in the south.
The boats were manned entirely by U.S. Coast Guard crews.
This particular boat was one of the first 12 Coast Guard cutters
which were converted for military use and sent to the war zone.
