Custom Doll House

This doll house was designed and built for a client that wanted something,
"simple, durable, and good looking". Two individual boxes, 20 inches wide and 24
inches tall, were joined in the center with a brass piano hinge. Closed, the dollhouse
is compact, and the entire inside can be reached through the working casement
windows. The lights are powered by AA batteries, to make it safe for young hands.
All interior trim is oak. An elevator was installed in place of a staircase,
to maximize room. Fireplace, light fixtures, cabinets, all made entirely by hand.
Scale is 1 inch.
